CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE/SOCIAL SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Riverside County Transportation Commission has appointed a Citizens Advisory Committee/Social Services Transportation Advisory Committee (CAC/SSTAC) consisting of nine members. The CAC/SSTAC is a volunteer advisory group tasked with providing input and advice to RCTC by participating in unmet transit needs hearing(s) and review of Short Range Transit Plans developed by public transit operators as part of the annual budget development process.
The Transportation Development Act (TDA) provides direction for administering both Local Transportation Fund (LTF) and State Transit Assistance (STA) funds. Both fund types are used to support operational and capital expenditures for public transit. For FY 2013/14, the annual transit budget for seven public bus operators and the RCTC Commuter Rail program was $181.6 million.
PURPOSE OF THE CAC/SSTAC
Membership to the CAC/SSTAC consists of community volunteers that represent a broad spectrum of social service providers representing the elderly, disabled and persons with limited financial means. As a volunteer advisory group, the members of the CAC/SSTAC provide input and advice to RCTC related to its transit program.
Typically CAC/SSTAC meetings are held twice a year. Locations may vary.
